Approaching a small business:
You can walk in and say to an employee, “Hi. My name is NAME. I work with AmeriPlan and I was just driving by some of our provider offices when I saw your store/daycare/center/whatever. We have a lot of dental providers on this street (in this area). Do the employees here receive dental and/or medical benefits?”

If they say that the employees receive health benefits, ask: “Oh, that’s great. Does that include any part-timers who work here?” Usually part-timers do not receive any benefits. Ask how many part-timers work there. Maybe you can do a group sale for them alone, or you may have to leave a few brochures for them to do individual programs with us.
If they say that the employees do not receive health benefits, ask how many people work at the store/center/whatever. If it is 5+, let them know that you can get a group sale and save them some money. Ask to speak to the owner of the small business.
